SystemOne is almost here... And it will change the power that be.

Simplistik Software, Co. was formed, or started, in 2005. It was one persons idea to “Simplify” the software. We had enough computing power to run all of the Apollo missions on a laptop but the business software I was working with would bring a state of the art system to it’s knee’s. The first product offering “Work Orders 101” built on Todd’s experience in the construction software industry and brought features otherwise left to larger more expensive offerings down to the startup service company.
After monitoring the software and it’s interactions with the operating system it was believed we could do better. With knowledge of the inter-workings of the operating systems and having been a Linux kernel developer since 1997 the skill wasn’t a question. In 2007 we started supplying IT Services to local companies. Skill in operating systems and networks made managing corporate infrastructure quite easy. In 2008 the source code to several applications along with full ownership license was transferred and income was primarily IT Service based. Custom software jobs were taken on an “Could be fun” type of discrimination. By 2009 the love and fascination with green energy and integration with computers hit a light bulb event. This event is what drives us today and is what the driving force behind “better calculation and code” creation and work. Supplying core consultation to other software houses on the power of simplicity and working with various manufactures we today supply greener and leaner software code to those that want it.
2010 started a new type of work for us. While we remain consistent in our IT Services work to local companies we have helped several companies manage their workload on greener and more energy efficient platforms. Our 2009 project at Silver Springs Animal clinic yielded a large 332% energy drop compared to it’s previous computer workload while they increase their size and capacity in terms of customer service. Doubling in size and increasing their responsibilities to the community while drastically reducing their energy footprint. In their exam rooms, which average just 120sq ft, we reduced energy consumption on the computer side from 244 watt/hr down to 49 watt/hr and reduced the cooling needs while massively reducing white noise issues that would otherwise disturb office appointments and aggravate the animals who are already in an agitated state.
So it’s 2011 and we have partnered with Lenovo and Intel to bring energy efficient software down to energy efficient hardware. Creating what every software consultant would call a paradox. More Processing with Less Power.
It can be done. “Cloud” users have proven an otherwise futile concept and that is most business users don’t really need the horsepower they really thing they do. Spreadsheets from 1990 haven’t changed much today and we still perform Double Entry Accounting the same way. And while some thing the cloud is the future the EPA has shown just recently in 2010 that each user consuming a cloud service from google is using 2-3x’s more electricity and producing 5x’s more CO2 than they would otherwise be consuming and producing if they were performing the same function on their own device. The science is there. It costs electricity to power your computer (which could very well be running the application), more to power your Network, Router and Modem. And then we have to power the line that brings the internet to your office or home. Then power the repeaters that carry it. Then we have to power the average 14 servers you bounce from on your way to and from “The Cloud” server. Then you have the server itself, and since it’s not really an Intel Atom based netbook it is also consuming power and Google servers average about 1100 watts per hour each (or about as much as 65 netbooks with their LCD’s fully lit, running full tilt and playing a movie).

Services Offered:

  • Eco-IT Consultation: Make the most of your available resources and eliminate carbon emissions. Reducing electricity waste and decreasing heat output are just a fraction of the savings.
  • Custom Software & Database systems: When an off-the-shelf solution isn't meeting demands a custom application or add-on may be necessary. From a simple form application to a complete ERP.
  • Password Recovery: Lost passwords and corrupted MD5 Index's can mean hundreds of hours recreating the data. For a small fee of $65/File we can recover or remove most passwords-File ownership MUST accompany.
  • Website and Web Presence: From the construction or re-construction of a site to the deployment, hosting and marketing.
  • Database conversion: Moving from one system to another generally means re-entering important data and some cases the vendor will provide data migration. We have developed a double entry system used to migrate the data. Similar to accounting practices this prevents duplication and error.
